The life of American woman Suzie, living in Japan, is turned upside down when her husband and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash. As a "consolation," her husband's technology company gifts her a new generation home robot named Sunny. At first, Suzie resists Sunny's attempts to fill the void in her life, but gradually a friendship develops between them. They are about to uncover the truth about what really happened to Suzie's family.
