The coach of the Kansas college American football team, Ted Lasso, is an incorrigible optimist, a universal favorite, and a YouTube star. The new owner of an English football club in the same state decides to use him in her cunning plans and offers Ted the position of head coach, hoping that he will ruin the club. Knowing nothing about this sport, Ted begins his new responsibilities with all his inherent enthusiasm.
