Emond's Meadow becomes a place where several visitors settle. One of them is Tom Merrilyn, a gray-haired minstrel. The second is Lady Moiraine. The third is the guardian Len. The main character is a member of the Aes Sedai organization. The woman is sure that the forces of darkness have broken free. They hunt for teenagers, three unhappy young people, to perform a secret ritual, because one of the guys is the reincarnation of a powerful personality.
