In the center of the movie - Billey Bing, the baseball player in the past holding nowadays a position of the managing director of the Californian club "Oakland Atletiks". He - the guy betrayed to the business, also didn't get used to give in without a fight. Failure on a responsible match entailed series of the events threatening to disbandment of club: key players leave club for the sake of more favorable offers, and limited financial opportunities of "Atletiks" don't allow to gather on their place of dear baseball players. Billey's appeal to board of directors with a request to increase the budget for the sake of future victories in a new season doesn't yield results.
Now the persistent manager has to think up how to entice good players into the team in the developed difficult conditions. The biographic movie "The Person Who Changed Everything" once again reminds us as it is important to believe in success and to continue to fight even then when all others recede. Having appeared in Cleveland, Bing meets the young Yale graduate by the name of Peter Brend, and this meeting changes everything. Peter – the economist who developed new system of selection of players.
He suggests Billey to test his method based on the computer analysis of parameters of each baseball player. The bin grabs this idea, including its perspective, and soon the team is adjoined by "fresh blood":the ketcher who was traumatized in the past, an ex-star of the main baseball league with unfortunate career and the young pitcher known for the original way of giving. But not all the colleague Billey support this decision.
