Leave the World Behind

A family of four rents a luxurious house with a swimming pool on the coast near New York for the weekend. Their relaxed vacation is marred by some strange occurrences: a huge tanker crashes right into the beach, mobile communication and internet are disconnected, the television doesn't work, and in the middle of the night, the owner of the house appears at the doorstep with his daughter, asking to spend the night because there has been a massive power outage in New York. Clearly, something is happening, but no one understands what exactly.
