Spaceman

Jakub Prohazka is an orphan, raised in a village by his grandparents, who went from being an ordinary scientist to becoming the first Czech astronaut. Given the chance to travel to Venus, and at the same time show extraordinary heroism and redeem the sins of his spy father, Jakub boldly ventures into the unknown. His devoted wife Lenka remains here on Earth, sacrificing herself for his ambitions, as he realizes too late. Finding himself alone in the vastness of space, Prohazka discovers a gigantic - and likely imaginary - spider, who becomes his only companion and conversationalist in philosophical discussions about the nature of love, life, death, and the incredible taste of bacon. But will Jakub be able to return home and have a second chance at a happy life with Lenka?
